Sports Premium

We appreciate the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of our children. We also acknowledge that a broad, balanced, high quality curriculum and extra-curricular activities have a positive impact on concentration, attitude, achievement and most importantly, enjoyment.

We are committed to ensuring that all pupils receive a minimum of 2 hours of PE per week, delivered by well-trained and enthusiastic teachers.

We run an extensive sports programme over the year, which includes a huge variety of sport clubs such as boys and girls Football, Netball, Hockey, Basketball, Athletics, Rounders and Multi-skills just to name a few. Our clubs take place before school, during lunch break and after school.

Colley Lane has been awarded the Sainsbury's Gold Mark Award for Sports for the past 5 years. In 2019, we were awarded the Sainsbury's Platinum Mark Award. We are extremely proud of the sporting curriculum and achievements of all involved at Colley Lane.

What is the Sports Premium?

The government provided funding of £320 million for the 2018/2019 academic year to provide substantial primary school sport funding. The funding has been jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and is ring-fenced for primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
