Colley Lane Parent & Teacher Association (PTA)
Your PTA work hard to organise and promote various events/activities throughout the school year. These events include Discos, Christmas and Summer Fayres. Lately we have been trying to run different events which have included our very successful Decorate an Egg Competition and selling strawberries and squash at Sports Days.
How often do we meet?
We usually meet in the School Library once a month from 3.30pm until 4.15pm latest, on a Thursday evening where a crèche is available if needed. In the run up to large events we meet more frequently to finalise details.
How can I help?
We are a very friendly group of volunteers on the PTA and we currently have approx 9 parent/carer members but we would welcome new members as the more help we have, the better the events can become! You can come to as many or as few meetings as you like. We need more ideas to evolve and carry the PTA forward so we can achieve the best for our children. We are all parents/carers and we understand how many commitments people have but, your support is vital in helping the PTA improve and run our events.
Where does the money go?
The money raised by the PTA at our events is kept in a separate account to schools and members distribute it when the school request it for various equipment throughout the school. Recently your money has contributed towards:
- The new school library and equipment.
- Year 6 Leavers books.
The school library is now complete so the PTA are now focusing on co funding a School Crossing Patrol as we have lost ours.
Who can you contact for more information?
If you are interested in joining the PTA, please come to a meeting to see what it is like (details in the newsletter). Alternatively, you can contact the school office to leave your details and a PTA member will contact you as soon as possible.
You can also contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Finally, all PTA members would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who supported our events last year and helped to make them a success!
